kudo's to the westin bayshore...

for having a dedicated gluten free menu!  for anyone who lives gluten free you know how challenging it can be to find restaurants that are accommodating to wheat and gluten free diets.  more and more restaurants are becoming aware, but there are still a range of issues to consider if a gluten free menu is not available, such as cross contamination in the kitchen or if the restaurant is not familiar with the less commonly known ingredients that contain gluten.  typically, in order to ensure your protection, many items that may be safe are still not recommended to eat due to these concerns, which shrinks your menu options even more.  andrea and I quickly learned that you have to be creative and strategic when reviewing and ordering from the menu… picking plain rice from one dish and plain veggies from another.  at times we have sadly found that there is absolutely nothing to eat at all.

we were delighted to learn about the westin bayshore’s seawall bar and grill’s unique gluten free menu…did we see pizza?  hamburgers with a bun?  ice cream for dessert that is safe to eat as well?

the seawall bar and grill is located at 1601 bayshore drive at the westin bayshore hotel in coal harbour.  604.682.3377.

Good luck on this much needed blog and welcome to the world of blogdom. Here is hoping you post some recipes as well...I'd love to try them. Will link you to my blog for future reading and for others to come and visit too. Have fun....keep the articles coming!
