it is so helpful when grocery stores provide a gluten free product listing for their stores. Choices Market and Whole Foods each provide brochures that list all of the gluten free products under various food categories. the gluten free directory for Whole Foods includes products under categories such as bread, candy and chocolate, crackers, frozen foods, grains and rice, and even personal care. you can also email the store if you see something is missing or incorrectly added to the list. Whole Foods has also started adding an orange gluten free sticker in front of all of the gluten free products in the store, they are large and very visible!
Choices Market also provides a gluten free product directory that is available in-store. the products are also listed according to breads, crackers, chips, pasta, soups and cereals to name just a few. Choices Market also has an online product directory that allows you to search a wide range of products from bread, cereal and crackers to baby formula and dairy alternatives, all from a drop down menu. you can select gluten free and other special diets such as dairy free, vegan, low sodium, organic, raw, kosher, wheat free, and fair trade, and a list of products that meet your selection will be itemized. Choices Market have also used a gluten free in-store product marking system for some time now, look for the blue sticker on the shelving price bar.
the gluten free product directories can be found under health and nutrition on both Choices Market and Whole Foods Market websites. be aware that ingredients in products may change from time to time, so you should always continue to read the labels of products before you buy, and use the directory as a guide to help you along.
