hi cally,
yes! we have been eager to post an article about rangoli and vij's since they make a lot of naturally gluten free dishes and also use chick pea flour for some of the breaded items such as the pakora's and chick pea naan bread is also available in vij's restaurant. the other great part about these restaurants is that vickram, the owner, is almost always there to talk to and he is great!
we formally wrote to them recently to ask what dishes would be safe for us to discuss on the blog and since they are in the midst of adding new items to the menu, we are waiting until it is finalized and then we can talk about all the new dishes, hopefully soon.
the other indian restaurant that i think is great is saffron in burnaby near metrotown. i asked them if they used any wheat in their curries and they looked offended! good sign! i have eaten at saffron a few times with no trouble. http://www.saffroncuisine.ca/
watch for our rangoli and vij's review soon!
we will also look into the tomato cafe i havent been there before, so thanks for the recommendation that it has been safe for you.
